Beautiful Vintage Italian Pottery Owl Sculpture Figurine on Tree Trunk - Italy
This beautiful hand painted pottery owl figurine was made in Italy – probably within the last 40 or 50 years. The owl is perched on a tree trunk (that was cut at an angle). ITALY is hand signed inside the tree trunk along the lower edge.
This is an especially nice large Italian figurine --- both in terms of the quality of the pottery and in the quality of the hand painting. Over the years, we have had many wonderful and unusual pieces of Italian pottery, but we have never before had an owl like this one.
It is in very good used vintage condition. There are some slightly rough spots in the center recessed area on its back between its wings (including what appears to be a little chip on an edge).
This figurine is fully three dimensional. The painter’s attention to detail permits the sculpture to be viewed and enjoyed from any direction.
The colors include many shades of beige and brown. There is also yellow, green and black.
