Vintage Exotic Painted Wood Flower Carving Sculpture Orange Red floral drama

This beautiful painted wood sculpture has been in our collection for a very long time.  We never found out where this exotic work of art was created; some have thought it was carved and painted in Hawaii.  The dramatic large flower is painted orange, red, ivory and brown.  There are three large carved wood leaves painted in two shades of green.  The bud on a long stem is wood, but the leaves at its base seem to have been made from heavy paper or plastic (and the paint is peeling a bit in that area because of age).

At one end of the wood base there is a small hole where perhaps there was once another stem with a bud (but it was not there when we purchased this many years ago).

It is in good used / vintage condition.  There is very little wear to the painted surfaces from wear, age and handling (with the exception of the paint on the small leaves – as previously mentioned).

This tropical looking wood sculpture will provide a dramatic pop of color to any decor.  The carved wood base / branch only touches the tabletop at three points, so it has a “light” look --- almost as though it is taking off.  Display it alone as a dramatic focal point ----- or group it in a collection of similar unique treasures.

Measurements:

Height at the bud (from the table surface)     5 1/8”

Maximum width       10”

Maximum height of flower petals (from table surface)   under 4”

Think outside of the box --- and consider hanging this as wall decor.  It would also be a phenomenal center (handle) on the lid of a large wood box or a large wood basket purse or tote.  It would be a splendid focal point of an interesting wreath (perhaps made of heavy vines) hung on the wall.  This wonderful wood sculpture deserves a new and creative life after having spent so many years displayed on our shelf!
