Wedgwood Peter Rabbit Child’s Plate Commemorating the 1982 Birth of Prince William to Princess Diana and Prince Charles

This Beatrix Potter Wedgwood plate was Peter Rabbit’s welcome to new baby Prince William, the first child of Princess Diana and Prince Charles.  That baby, now His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales - and the heir to the throne - was born in the 30th anniversary year of the reign of his grandmother Queen Elizabeth II.  The baby’s father Prince Charles is now King Charles III.

Collectors of Wedgwood’s Peter Rabbit children’s dinnerware of course prefer the older vintage pieces - like this charming plate - since they were actually MADE IN ENGLAND.

The greeting around the rim of the plate reads:

Welcome to the new baby of the Prince and Princess of Wales,  with love,  Peter Rabbit.

Decorating the rim, there is also a hanging teapot at the left and a cup and saucer at the right.

The maker’s information on the back of the plate:

WEDGWOOD of ETRURIA & BARLASTON MADE IN ENGLAND
Copyright   Frederick Warne & Co      Beatrix Potter Designs    PETER RABBIT

This is a sweet collectible for British royalty fans.  It would also be a special baby or toddler gift for a child named William and/or with a June 21 birthday….perhaps to be hung on the wall or displayed on a shelf.

This 41 year old child’s dinner plate is in excellent condition.

It is 6 7/8” in diameter.

The price includes free shipping to U.S. customers.
