An elephant, giraffe, zebra and two swans are featured in this very colorful exotic scene.  In this small original painting (on canvas / fabric) from Haiti, a zebra is stepping into the blue water from the right next to two swans.  The elephant is coming from the left and the giraffe, coming from the right, towers above the others.  The luxurious foliage and flowers form the backdrop of this vertical slice of life in the lush jungle.  The vibrant colors of the flora and fauna include pink, yellow and a range of greens.  The pair of white swans (with orange beaks and eyes) are dwarfed in size by the animals and the oversized plants.

Along the lower edge, at the center, it is signed .....   Docteur   Haiti .

The painting is not framed.  The canvas / fabric is tacked to a wood stretcher frame made up of wood that is under 1" x 1".  The painting is approximately 8" x 20".

As can be seen from the back, the artist has re-purposed canvas / fabric that previously was a sign with lettering.  

The painting is in very good condition.  There are a few spots with a bit of surface "dirt" (which we noticed after the outdoor photography session), but we will leave it to the new owner to remove (perhaps with a slightly damp cotton puff or Q-tip).

Several years ago we sold (on what was then the major online venue) a very large Haitian folk art painting of an extraordinary jungle scene full of exotic birds.  It was by a different artist, but this small painting by Docteur is of the same level of quality and execution.
