This fabulous Mission oak table can serve as a distinctive desk or as a large lamp or occasional table.  It is a very useful size together with being one of the most beautiful and elegant vintage/antique Mission tables we have ever owned. The beautiful and dramatic grain pattern of the quarter sawn oak on the top is one of the table’s many unique attributes.  This is definitely a unique and memorable table that has a lot of character. It will be an eye catching focal point in any home or office décor.

Perhaps generations ago this splendid table served as a clerk’s desk in a business.

The simple streamlined design – with slim and square tapered legs -- makes it very versatile. It will fit in an Arts & Crafts interior, in a mid century modern decor or as a classic piece in a more traditional decor.

Many of our customers with MCM furnishings incorporate classic and streamlined antique / vintage pieces from earlier decades (and the previous century).   This table would be a splendid accent piece in a MCM interior. It is classic, elegant and streamlined, and the patterning of the oak adds visual interest and drama.

The table is just under 30" tall.  The top surface (with rounded corners) is almost a perfect square – 24” wide and 23 3/4” deep. The top surface is under 7/8” deep/thick. The two slim drawers have brass (or brass plated) pulls / handles. The top drawer can be locked by putting a small padlock through the two center pieces that protrude at the bottom of the top drawer.

Measurements at the bases of the legs (the front legs are under 1” square) – 20 1/4” wide x 20 ½” deep (the inside width between the legs is 18 ½”). The bottom of the shelf is about 9” off of the ground. The shelf is under 4” x under 18 ½” x less than 1” thick.

We have used this table just as it was when we purchased it years ago. A previous owner (or owners) has obviously worked on it (keeping it in good shape) --- and at some point in the past, someone put a slightly shinier finish on it (at least on the top) than what we prefer.

Its surface is in very good condition. The next owner can always use Old English scratch oil and 0000 (four zero) fine steel wool to make any of the slight scratches and marks/rubs (from age / use / handling) less visible.
